About: LAMDA
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1861, it quickly established itself as a centre of excellence in performance training.

LAMDA began offering speech examinations to the public in 1880. Since then, these examinations have been refined and developed. In addition to being the UK’s largest statutory speech and drama awarding body, LAMDA Examinations has a reputation for excellence across the globe.

 LAMDA examinations are designed to equip learners, whatever their age or aspirations, with a range of skills which will serve them throughout life.

Stephanie is LAMDA trained herself receiving the highest mark of Honors in her Bronze, Sliver and Gold, LAMDA examinations.

“The monologues I learnt for my LAMDA exams were the first audition pieces I used”.

Acquiring LAMDA qualifications will stand any aspiring thespian in good stead and also help with audition technique.

Examinations offered:
Speech and Drama – solo or duo.
Acting – solo or duo.
Musical Theatre- solo or duo.
Group Acting – minimum 3 and a maximum of 10.
Group  Devising Drama- minimum 3 and a maximum of 10.

The classes are an hour long . Exams can be taken twice a year in Plymouth.

Lessons are taught at “The Redannick Theatre” Truro,  “The British Legion” Newqauy, or in the comfort of your own home. Times can be arranged to suit your schedule. Call for more information. Cornwall Dance and Drama LAMDA students are often asked to take guest rolls in our “Cornwall Dance and Drama” productions. Especially our infamous Christmas pantomime.
